I've been playing with the tracks, and while I did get the snare like I wanted, the drums just don't sound right. I mean I want them to sound really live. the room where I recorded is small and together they sound a little dead. Can I save it?

Snare sound

I'm doing a heavy rock-a-billy type record and I'm looking for that loose, rattle-y sound on the snare. I'm happy with the attack, but I just want more rattle with it. Is this in the drum choice or can I get it in the recording? Any ideas?

Welcome to the WirelessMicrophones.com Recording forum

Come on into the control room -- the engineer's very special haven of creativity, utility and on occasion, magic. Here, you will find insights, tips, tricks and concepts that will lead you to recording super-mega-stardom-land. At the very least, you might figure out that great accordion sound you've been looking for. Ask a question, tell a story, offer a solution or confess your mistakes -- you're safe here.
